For Jim & Scott

So, my friends and I hung out this weekend to act the part of cave-dwelling technogeeks, splurging on food and drink, watching movies until all traces of exercise evaporated and of course, rocked the RB2 challenges to the very end.

We call it the Barkeep weekend - from the original mailing list once started to stay in communication when we were so far apart - telling our woes to the barkeep. :)

Friday night Jim and Scott demanded more participation in the blog-o-sphere (specifically theirs) so here I am trying to expand the circumference bit more. :)

Quantum of Solace was fun but a bit too normal of a drama - no out of this world, unbelievable schemes. Some people miss the gadgetry, some miss the excessive comedy schtick. I for one miss the super-crazy maniacal evil-doers. These guys were just too close to reality. I need just a bit more separation from the real world when it comes to my escape-movies.

Other than that, Friday's excessive alcohol was fun (I got to play the deviant guy who convinces everyone to drink Tequila when they swore they never would again... hehehehe). Saturday's pizza was ta-die-fowa and Harold & Kumar did indead escape G-Bay. All seemed right in the world until....

...Sunday. I couldn't help but immediately start thinking about Monday's business. This weekend was too short. Next time, we're going to do this family style, for a week at least. We need more time together, and it's time to pull our worlds together methinks.

I really enjoyed the idea of going to Amsterdam in four years - but sooner than that I think a week in May 2009... QLs, Nickels, Cohen (and his FB?) and Andrules-Fries-es-es. I think it's time to start a new tradition that includes our other halves - when the kids are asleep I'm sure our mates can be just as devious as us guys.

We could finally start having those family get-togethers of old friends our kids don't care to know, at parties that they cannot attend, talking foolishly in ways that leave them utterly bored. We'll drink, tell secrets that should never be mentioned again, and laugh at our kids as they roll their eyes.

Scott, Jim and Jamie: You guys can each borrow one for the week. I'm sure Jenna and Annie won't mind on bit. :)

Comments:
Ah, good times...

The Family Get-Together concept is intriguing. Should any one of you or your families ever meet my FB-of-the-month, though, count my life gone horribly wrong.

And awesome post, bruddah!

Scott has a FB? Kewl. I thought that's what his ferrets were for...

That is wrong on so many levels, Annie...

Then again, you're my kinda freak.
