Colorado Trip, Day 1

Actually, day 0 and day 1. I flew to Colorado for the weekend to blow off some steam (not Steam).

James met me at the airport - he did not come any closer to an actual airplane than he had to.

Starbucks is deeply indebted to him.

See Mr. President - it's not just a country of Red vs. Blue! But notice that Texas is yella'!

Surreal, eternal, baggage handling.

This is the outside of the airport - all of those electric mountains are tents that make up the roof. When it snows, people actually have to get up on top and shuffle snow of the top of their tent-airport.

I wonder if Madonna could use these? Hmmm....
They're probably left overs from the concert tour.

Now Day 1 - The Andrules-Fries Colorado Home. Yes, that's the H3! Jim's trying to climb into it. :)

Our adventure into the moutains begins - off to see Estes Park and the infamous Bear Lake that Jim loves so much.

Fall in Colorado is strictly green and yellow. I guess it's the alternative lifestyles that put the 'color' in Colorado. :)

Snow clouds? Those aren't snow clouds... not on our mountain....

We stop in the town of Estes Park for a quick jaunt to buy a hat for Eman's nappy head. No showers required to mountain hike - state law.

This is a great little tourist area - lots of shops, a bronze cougar and strange smoking devices available in any store they don't sell angels or crosses.

"How much do you want for this!?!" No, I mean the rights to license it!
This little kids tee actually comes from a company called Life is good, started by two guys selling various tees during to get off the PB&J diet. I'm pretty sure they only eat PB&J now when they want to. Their coffee table book is sooooo cool that I bought one right after Jim did, so we could put it in the office for all of our patiently waiting customers. :)

"What is it girl? Do you smell something? Do you wanna go over to the tourism area and have a little snack?"

(just breathe).

Next post: Day 1, the Mountain Hike. I must go play some GHII now!

Comments:
Nice looking trip dude.

Nice commentary E! Btw, whattheheck is GHII?

I tried gifting HL2 to Zoey thinking he would also get Deathmatch so we could frag a bit... no luck, so now the Mac toting Zoey has a copy of HL2 that he can only use when he is around a PC. I didn't realize Deathmatch was a separate $9.95 purchase.

Anyweigh... have fun tomorrow, can't wait to see those pics!

Woohoo!

Cool trip, cool pics, and cool blog!!!

Sophie wants more photos of you with wild animals. Preferably real, live, breathing wild animals. Um, I'm not sure I should have told you that. I like you with all your appendages...love Mrs. The Brat.

Awesome photos dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone - hopefully I can get the rest of stuff up by sometime tomorrow - didn't really plan to take an immediate hiatus on the blog, but definitely had a lot of talking to do while in CO.
